Apple watch Incompatible with Tattoos

Apple's "Revolutionary" Apple Watch seems to have a compatibility issue with certain colored tattoos that prevent the device's heart rate monitor from working. While this would seem to be a relatively mild problem in other devices, it actually causes the entire device to not function properly, as most of the device's programs will not function properly unless it is not properly reading one's heart rate. The reason for this issue seems to lie in individuals with black tattoos, as the opaque ink prevents the infrared light from permeating your skin and reflecting off one's blood vessels to check the timing of your heartbeat, which despite being the weirdest thing I've read all day, seems to allow the device to determine if it is hooked up and ready to use. Fortunately, this issue does not extend to those with darker skin pigmentation or scars, since the skin is still translucent there. Unfortunately for those this artificial limbs, the apple watch will indefinitely not work at full capacity. While this seems like a rather strange issue, I wonder if using the device on the other arm, if not tattooed is possible,  as that would be a much easier and cheaper option than tattoo removal.
