Microsoft Co-Founder finds lost Battleship with help of Unmanned Sub

Last week, Microsoft Co-Founder Paul Allen found the Musashi, a Japanese battleship that sunk in the Sibuyan sea in 1944 during the battle of the same name. What makes this find so groundbreaking is the fact that the Musashi was, at the time, belonged to the Yamato class of battleship, which was home to the largest battleships in operation (862 ft 10 in with displacement of 74,000 tons). The Yamato class was also armed with 45 centimeter (18.1 inch) guns, the largest of any naval gun in history.
Unmanned Subs are typically used in deep sea exploration in order to ensure the safety of its operators, as manned subs typically cannot reach the same depths and withstand the same amount of pressure that unmanned subs can. Such tech has been used to find wrecks of other famous ships, such as the Titanic, the  Lusitania and the German Battleship, Bismarck. Allen has been releasing images of the Musashi on his twitter account (which can also be seen below), and is also going to be streaming a tour of the wreck on youtube later today.
